With Update #586 the way modification levels work in Tanki Online has been completely overhauled. Many changes were made, including renaming the abbreviation for Modification from "M" to "Mk", balancing the costs for different levels of equipment, and changing the total number of modifications from four to seven.

Changes to appearance
Prior to this update, each modification level had its own unique "skin" (appearance). This changed with the Mk update. Two "Mk" levels will share the appearance of one "M" level, as illustrated in the table below.

Color code
- Red – a red number indicates that the price has been increased.
- White – a white number indicates that the price has remained approximately the same.
- Green – a green number indicates that the price has been decreased.
