Guide to playing in Farm effectively
Overview: Farm is quite a small map. It isn’t very popular at low ranks but gains a bit of support at the higher ranks. Farm is commonly used for Save the Golds or long Drug wars at high ranks.
Battle Modes: DM, TDM, CTF, CP
Size: 4v4, 8 Players
The way to win a Deathmatch in Farm is to use a heavy hull and take cover. You will need a quick reload weapon with decent damage and range, like Smoky, Vulcan, Ricochet or Thunder with Mammoth, Titan, Dictator or Viking underneath.
The best place to camp would be:
On the Red Side
- Behind the fences.
- Down in the “ditch”.
On the Blue Side
- Behind the house/pipe.
- Around the shipping containers.
You will need to use a few mines, just so those pesky close range weapons don’t get too close. In that case, just lay them around the opening to your area.
As for other supplies, use a Double Armor while trying to get to an open place. After that, get set up by continuing to use Armor while laying a few mines around.
Once you have set up nicely and are feeling comfortable, lay a brick on the 3 key (Double Damage) and wipe out anyone that you can see.
In TDM, you will be combining the tactics of Death Match and Capture the Flag, so you will need to play defensively while constantly attacking the other team.
The easiest way to do this is to find a position that is well covered, but allows you to freely fire into the opposition’s base. On Farm, the best position for this would be along the centre wall. Peeking through the gaps in the wall allows most of your tank to be covered, while having an open sight into (almost) the whole enemy base. With an Isida driving around behind the tanks, this makes an incredibly strong team.
A Heavy Hull, some drugs on hand and a decent stash of mines. That’s all you need to make a unstoppable defense in Farm. On the Blue side, the best place to defend from is from behind the house/pipe or behind the 2 shipping containers, whereas on the Red side it is behind the fence on either side or if you decide to use a medium/heavy hull (such as Viking, Dictator or maybe even Titan) you can hide down on the ramp, but remember it isn’t as shielded as behind the fences when trying to attack.

On attack, you need a mixture of everything. Speed, Health, Damage, Healing, Short Range and Medium/Long range. The best combo depends on your role.
Firstly, an Isida is the key to winning. Without one your attack won’t last long and your defense is at risk of being crushed (depending on the skill level of the opposition). The Isida is probably best fitted on top of a medium hull, like Hunter or Viking.
The 3rd position should go to someone that can distract as well as destroy the opposition, like Hammer, Vulcan, Twins, Magnum, Ricochet or Freeze (as long as no one is using Firebird in your team to prevent them cancelling out each other’s effects). Their job is to take the attention off the flag carrier by getting in the way of the other team. This works well with pretty much with any hull.
In CP, there is only one point, so it has to be owned by you.
To put it simply, Go heavy and use a mixture of turrets. That way you not only can survive quite a bit longer than usual, but paints wont have a major effects on everyone (depending on your and your team-mates choice). An Isida will come in handy, as after you have cleared out the point you will need to get some health back before dealing with the next wave of tanks.
